Products
In the biodiesel production chain, a series of by-products are generated, which are also commercialized by Bio-Oils:
Gums or Lecithin Paste
The biodiesel production process begins with the pre-treatment of crude oil (soybean, rapeseed, etc.), which consists of degumming and neutralization to remove free acidity, impurities, and gums.
The final use of our gums or paste is industrial, serving as an ingredient in the manufacture of soaps and detergents.
Fatty Acids
Fatty acids are obtained from the physical refining of crude oil, mainly palm oil. The percentage of long-chain acids typically ranges between 76% and 86%.
This by-product can be used as a primary raw material in the production of soaps, detergents, candles, and textile inks. In the oleochemical industry, they form the basis for preparing fatty alcohols and derivatives. They are also a raw material for biodiesel production through the esterification process.
Glycerin
Bio-Oils produces technical-grade glycerin for a wide range of applications.
Glycerin is a viscous brown liquid (melting point = 18°C) with a glycerol content above 80% and a density of around 1.25–1.28 kg/l. It is obtained by cleaning, distilling, and neutralizing crude glycerin to remove residues of free acids, soaps, and reduce methanol content.
