Sustainability

Bio-Oils, as a company committed to future generations, is focused on the production of sustainable biofuels. This commitment is reflected in its certification under the most demanding sustainability management systems.

In 2012, in compliance with Directive 2009/28/EC on Renewable Energy, currently Directive 2018/28/EU, Bio-Oils certified its refining, transesterification, and marketing activities under the ISCC-EU (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification) system, which defines the procedures and standards to be implemented. This system distinguishes sustainable biodiesel from non-sustainable biodiesel, including the associated reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.

In 2018, Bio-Oils certified its refining, transesterification, and marketing activities under the 2BSvs certification system.

In 2020, in compliance with Decree 114 of November 2019, later amended by Legislative Decree 3 of March 2011, Bio-Oils certified its refining, transesterification, and marketing activities under the Italian National Certification System for the Sustainability of Biofuels and Bioliquids.
